Myofunctional therapy is an exercised based therapy (think physical therapy) for the orofacial muscles-muscles of the mouth, tongue, and face. The exercises are designed specifically to improve muscle dysfunction and restore proper breathing, chewing, and swallowing.
1) Nasal breathing
2) Lips sealed
3) Tongue positioned on the roof of the mouth
4) Proper swallowing
All day and all night
Did you know your tongue is actually part of your airway? It plays a pivotal roll in your overall health, affecting facial development, speech, sleep, breathing, and even posture!
My mission is to help my patients breath better, liver healthier, and smile more. I'm a strong believer in treating the root cause of a problem and not just masking the symptoms. Oral myofunctional disorders (OMDs) can lead to an array of health issues. Working with my patients to complete myofunctional therapy I believe together we can move mountains!

Marilee graduated from Lane Community College with her Dental Hygiene degree in 2011. Since then she has enjoyed working as a clinical dental hygienist helping her patients understand the link between their oral health and overall health. Early on she realized the importance of patient education to lead prevention efforts. After learning about myofunction therapy at a continuing education conference and piecing the puzzle together based on symptoms her daughter was experiencing, she knew she needed to learn more. That's when she took Sarah K Hornsby's Myo Mentor program. She's now dedicated to helping others correct their myofunction disorders.
When she's not helping her patients with their dental hygiene and myofunctional therapy needs she focuses her time on her two beautiful daughters and husband. She enjoys watching them play sports and volunteer at their school. Her "me" time is either spent at the gym or baking; it's all about balance!! Any chance she gets she loves to travel and explore.
